So, this #Canvas pilot was announced in our #CSUMB Academic Senate today. There are already a few faculty involved, though I'm not. "Not a done deal" is the quote in the meeting but they're looking at Moodle options.

Laura Gibbs (If we do this I will come out and live with you for a while)
Phil Hill Bryan Alexander
Liz Stevenson Michelle Pacansky-Brock (we hear Canvas is really growing in the CCC... part of the brief justification given today)
Please DO tag in anyone else who might be interested.

I'm going back to PAYING ATTENTION in this meeting dammit. More later.

As you know, I'm not (that) shy about critiquing the higher ed system I happen to be employed in.

As you know, I'm not (that) shy about critiquing the higher ed system I happen to be employed in. So when I think they're on the right track, I want to share that, too. This is one such occasion.

The first grads of this 3-year #CSUMB  & #Hartnell College joint computer-science program are walking next Saturday!

Don't be thrown off by the co-director using the G-word. (He said it, and the NPR headline editor used it.) Overall, great news, and obviously the program is off to a good start.

Here's the story I shared a couple of years ago in the first year of the program:

Phil Hill Donna Murdoch You noted the original post at the time, so I'm just letting you know we have some grads coming out the other end.

Bryan Alexander Liz Stevenson

The local (KION/KCBW) cameras were on the #CSUMB  campus all afternoon yesterday, and our officials were on the 5pm/6pm news talking about important stuff. Fine, but some of us actually had to teach classes during showtime. Where's the video?
